Oceanside is located in the most Northern Part of San Diego County’s coast. Home to the military base, Camp Pendleton, Oceanside is a wonderful little town with a lot to do.
Most popular may be the Oceanside Pier. At 1,942 feet, the Oceanside Pier it’s one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast. Located at the end of the pier is the popular Ruby’s Diner.
Catch a surf contest at Oceanside Beach – several are held throughout the year. The beach here has a playground for the kids and you can easily walk to the many near-by restaurants, including Ruby’s on the pier.
California Surf Museum for surf related artifacts and memorabilia is great for the surf enthusiast. For the outdoorsmen, visit the Buena Vista Audubon Society Nature Center with views of the lagoon and good bird watching. Stroll the shops and restaurants in the Harbor or see free concerts during the spring and summer at the Oceanside Pier Plaza Amphitheatre.
